TRANCERIE EMILIANE HALTS PRODUCTION IN SUPPORT OF THE ESN INITIATIVE
Trancerie Emiliane is fully committed to the production halt initiated and coordinated by ESN (Electromechanics Synergy Network). Alongside prominent European industrial leaders, including ArcelorMittal and ThyssenKrupp, we stand united to send a strong, unequivocal signal to both national and European authorities.
Throughout Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and Slovakia, many business owners have chosen to halt their regular production schedules in order to brief employees, the press, and government bodies on the critical challenges currently facing our sector and the urgent need for action before the damage becomes irreversible.
Without immediate and decisive intervention, Europe risks widespread deindustrialization, which would ultimately reduce the continent to a purely service-based economy.
We are not asking for subsidies or economic privileges. Rather, we demand the opportunity to compete on a level playing field against foreign competitors who operate under fundamentally different regulations or under vastly simplified market conditions.
While Europe is finally implementing safeguarding measures for steel production, it is imperative that comprehensive industrial policies are also extended to protect downstream semi-finished and finished goods. Without such measures, these products will remain highly vulnerable, leaving individual companies with little leverage to resist.
Regrettably, we are not facing a hypothetical future threat; this is an active crisis, evidenced by a sharp decline in orders, slowing production lines, and the loss of skilled manufacturing jobs.
We have alerted policymakers, who fully recognize that our industry is a cornerstone of European manufacturing excellence. Our sector is vital to strategic supply chains, including automotive, power distribution, domestic appliances, and industrial applications. With millions of workers and their families relying on these operations, forcing production out of Europe would lead to catastrophic socio-economic consequences.
At Trancerie Emiliane, we prefer to halt production for one hour today, to avoid shutting down permanently tomorrow.
ESN will continue to urge European institutions to adopt a long-term strategic vision and action plan, safeguarding and structuring the future of the European electromechanical sector.
