
ESN and Thyssenkrupp: Together for a forward-looking European industrial policy
Bruxelles, July 1–2 – The ESN network took part in the second institutional meeting promoted by Thyssenkrupp, which brought together a selected group of Members of both the European Parliament and industry representatives. The event proved to be a significant moment of reflection on the challenges and prospects of the European electromechanical sector.
Among the prominent figures who actively contributed to the European debate on the future of the electromechanical industry were leading personalities such as Dennis Radke, Brando Benifei, Andrea Wechsler, Jens Geier, Lukas Mandl, Susana Solís Pérez, Daniel Caspary, Manfred Weber, and Joan Canton stand out. Also present were key representatives of European institutions, including Kerstin Jorna, Maria Elena Scoppio, Denis Redonnet, Kurt Vandenberghe, Elisa Roller, and Peter Van Kemseke, whose technical and political contributions enriched the discussion and strengthened the reflection on more equitable and sustainable industrial policies.
These exchanges demonstrate the breadth and quality of institutional engagement that the ESN network is promoting at the European level, consolidating its role as a spokesperson for the needs of the electromechanical sector.
During the initiative, Mr. Franco Felisa emphasized the urgency of hindering unfair competition and promoting an inclusive and competitive regulatory environment capable of enhancing European excellence. ESN’s presence reinforced its position as a qualified interlocutor in European decision-making processes, helping to expand the dialogue between businesses and institutions. These meetings marked an important step in defining a systemic response to the crisis in the electromechanical sector, with ESN at the forefront of the fight to defend Europe’s jobs, expertise, and industrial identity.
